WitrynaAlexander Graham Bell was a Scottish scientist, inventor, and engineer who was credited as the inventor of the first practical telephone. The first Bell telephone was launched in June 1875. Although Alexander had the patent at the time, other scientists including Antonio Meucci and Elisha Gray also developed a talking telegraph. In 1872, Bell became professor of Vocal Physiology and Elocution at the Boston University School of Oratory. During this period, he alternated between Boston and Brantford, spending summers in his Canadian home.
